Unlike the murky waters of the Colorado River in Austin, the San Marcos River is a refreshing oasis where you can enjoy a lazy tube ride down the river for 2.5-3.5 hours (depending on your preferred timeline). There will be plenty of time to soak up the sun, enjoy local wildlife, and, of course, have a little party on the water. BYOB, so bring along your favorite beers and seltzers (NO GLASS CONTAINERS, please!), and leave the rest up to us. We'll have a small cooler for everyone to share. Message us if you want to book a kids experience. We will start the experience in the backyard where you will meet Ripley the house pig. You'll learn about the history of Kunekune pigs and what makes them so unique. If we have younger pigs that are living in the backyard you'll get to meet them then too. I'll have treats prepared for you to feed the pigs and you'll learn how to make them sit and get their treats. Then I'll take you to meet the adult pigs first the girls and then the boys. We have 20 pigs that make up "Halbert Herd" and their ages range from 4 months to 9 years. You'll get to feed the adults treats and they love getting attention and being petted. Most of them will lay down and want their belly rubbed. If we have piglets you'll get to spend time in the piglet pen, depending on their age, you may be able to feed them treats and when they get to be about 3 weeks old they will crawl on your lap. Other things to note Make sure to wear closed toes shoes, pigs like to chew on toes. Rain, hiking, mud boots are great options. You will get dirty and we will be outside. Pay attention to the weather and dress accordingly. Long pants work better even when its hot because we may walk in tall grass in the pastures.

If you're looking for a specific day and time, reach out, we can often accommodate schedule changes. See a working bee farm in action. Prime Bees is a farm-based out of Bryan/College Station. Our honey bees pollinate crops and collect forage from land throughout the Brazos County. At our bee farm, we extract and bottle honey, make honey products, render beeswax and make wax products, build equipment, educate beekeepers, and host educational, agritourism events. You'll likely be greeted by our corgis as you arrive at the farm. We'll wave, chat a bit, and once everybody arrives, we'll talk about the farm, what we do, fascinating things about bees, and then we'll select some protective gear for your hive visit. We'll walk out to the learning apiary to see an assortment of hive types and weather permitting, open some beehives. You may even throw some seeds out on your way out to the bees to plant more flowers for the bees throughout the years. You'll get to hear, smell, touch, and experience the equipment and what it is like to be a beekeeper. Our beekeepers are excited to share their experience and love for bees with you. We will take photos and videos to share with you as well so you can share this unique experience with friends and family.

Join us as we learn all about how honey gets from farm to table. Our guests will learn how honey is made, harvested, and brought to our homes. We'll start by learning about the honey extraction process as well as options for filtering and bottling honey. We'll discuss how bees collect nectar from flowers and turn it into the delicious honey we enjoy in our food and beverages. The cumbersome process for both bees and beekeepers is a part of what makes honey so special. We'll share a variety of honey flavors from throughout the United States and Texas as well as our local honey. The variety in flavor is indescribable. You'll also receive some of our special recipes to use your favorite honey in. We love sharing all about honey bees and honey - we're excited to meet you and share this experience with you. Water will be provided and you'll have the option of crackers for your tasting as well. We encourage you to bring whatever you'd like - you're welcome to bring your own beer and wine or even cheese and fruit to experience your honey tasting.

Ready to shape your own cup? Join us for a two hour pottery experience and learn your way around the potter's wheel as your shape your own unique bowls, cups and vases with the help of your host. In this experience, you will shape 2 to 3 pieces. Want to do it with some friends? We can take up to 8 people at a time. After shaping your items, you will choose the color you want them finished in and we will ship them to you when they have gone through the firing process. At Southern Trails you will enjoy a genuine Texas experience! There's no better way to explore Central Texas than on horseback. Misti and I will take you on a scenic, guided horseback ride, show you the reins, and ensure you have a fun experience. First, we will pair you with one of our highly trained and lovable horses! (Whiskey, Bear, Mississippi, Comanche, or Dolly!). Next, we will have a brief lesson where you will learn to stop, turn and ride the proper way on the trails. Then we will head out and take an hour trail ride through the beautiful Texas countryside. We will ride through trees, up hills, down hills. We will pass some creeks and ponds and even some cows that free graze on the property! An interesting fact about This ranch is that it was a shooting location for the famous western movie…Lonesome Dove! We will stop to take a couple pictures along the way! If you have younger children please call and ask about "Little Dude Ride." It is perfect for kids and families that aren’t quite ready for the hour trail ride. Go on a walking, cocktail tasting, tour of downtown Austin! We'll stop and talk about several hidden-face speakeasy style bars - some stashed inside parking garages, behind bookshelves, down alley ways, pass-code and password protected, and private clubs! We'll get you into three where we can order drinks! Meet downtown and we'll sit and chat for a few minutes introducing ourselves and what it means to call a bar a speakeasy in Austin, TX. Then, we walk to the first bar. All the bars are located downtown within a few blocks of each other. We'll spend 30-45 minutes in each of three bars, having drinks, learning about the place, and appreciating the aesthetic. Throughout the night we will continue on past several more hidden-face speakeasy style bars, stopping in some and just stopping to talk about others. The night ends once you get into the third and final bar and get your drinks ordered. We do not to include drinks to give you a lower price and more choice. We will have a group tab which can be paid for via cash, Apple Pay and Cash App. Prices vary by venue but $15-25 per drink (including a 20% tip) is a good ballpark.

Horse back riding @ Rockin star ranch! You'll start your time off being fitted with a riding helmet followed by a half hour of instruction on how to properly saddle and mount your horse, how to properly fit the bridle on their head, how to put a bit in their mouth, basic left, right, forward, backward, and stop commands. After that (if you feel confident) we will ride around the arena to get you acclimated to your new friend. Still feeling good? Off we go to tour the property! We've got Oryx, Elk, Auodad, Axis deer, Whitetail deer, Rams, and all sorts of other furry little critters that might happen to cross our path. Bring your boots and jeans!

Our family fell in love with goats in early 2020 during the Covid lockdown. Raising baby goats has now become a lifestyle for us. Yes, we always have baby goats! This experience allows you to be hands on with the youngest babies and learn about them. You can also meet the mommies and the bucks. When you arrive, we will take a couple of minutes to introduce ourselves and our animals. We will then jump right in to it and introduce you to our cute baby goats. You can pet, hold, or cuddle them as you wish and feed them treats. While you play, we will tell you a bit about each one of them, and their personalities (yes, each goat has a different personality, and likes and dislikes). We will let you spend some time with our goats and be available to answer questions or share knowledge. Be ready to meet some tiny goats! Our goats are all very friendly and clean.
